REAL TALK: We love being pet photographers so much

REAL TALK: We love being pet photographers so much. It means just as much to us as it does to all of you who we’ve been lucky enough to photograph over the years.
But running a small business can be so hard, and more challenging than we ever thought.
Over the weekend we received not one, but THREE fake bad reviews on Google and Facebook in the space of 48hrs. These 1 star reviews were posted by people behind fake profiles, that have had no interaction with our business whatsoever.
We have no idea who’s behind this or why. But we do know we’ve lost our 5 star rating we’ve worked really hard to build over the past 6 years. What’s worse is Facebook won’t remove the fake review, and we’re still waiting on Google to even respond to us.
So, we need to ask a favour of you all.
If you have been a client of ours, if we’ve taken photos of you and your pup at an event, or if you’ve had any kind of positive experience with us, we’d be so grateful if you could please take a minute to leave us a positive review on Google or Facebook.

Sometimes it’s the small moments that have the biggest place in your heart ❤️
For this sweet session, our aim was to capture plenty of happy family memories for Kerri, Cuong and their adorable pug siblings Gus & Kenji.
Sadly Gus was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, and he crossed the rainbow bridge not too long after our session together 🌈
We feel so grateful we had just enough time to capture these beautiful moments that Kerri and Cuong can treasure always.

Thinking back to our beautiful session with Barbara and her best friend Hannah, an 11 year old labrador ❤️
Hannah is Barbara’s faithful companion in the retirement village apartment they share. It goes without saying their bond is an incredibly special and meaningful one.
Yesterday we came across an important petition by the Companion Animal Network @australia_can calling for more support services for senior Australians to be able to keep their pets at home.
As dog lovers we all know how much the unconditional love and companionship of our pups mean to us. This simply couldn’t be more true for the elderly, who are most at risk of facing loneliness and isolation. It’s why they depend on their pets more than most.
We don't know about you, but the thought of an elderly person being separated from their pet simply because there aren’t enough support services to help provide care for them is heartbreaking.
So if you want to show your support for increasing pet-friendly aged care support services, please sign the petition. We’ll post the link in the comments and on our story 🫶

One thing we always tell pawrents is that we have a soft spot for the cheeky pups!
Iggy is dearly loved by her mum and dad, although she doesn't show a great deal of initiative when it comes to cuddles... 🤭 Lucky she makes up for it in character and all her adorable quirks!
So much fun shooting this gorgeous trio, and all the moments that make their family connection one-of-a-kind 🥰

Sundays are all about R&R after all (and depending on who you barracked for yesterday you might be nursing a sore head! 😅)
As pet photographers we get to capture all sorts of cosy moments like this one. There's just something about seeing a pup at home, in their element and living their best life 😍

Well, we just happen to do both and love it 😍
Gorgeous Isla was definitely the star of this love-filled family session we had recently, featuring three generations!
She loves hanging out with her furry siblings Binkie and Baxter, if that adorable smile is anything to go by. The bond between dogs and children is so pure and special 🥰

It was a gloomy day and we felt like experimenting with the light... this isn't usually our style of photography but we were pretty happy with how these shots turned out.

This was such a fun and sweet in-home session with pom siblings @ollie.thea.diana in their South Melbourne apartment.
You might actually be surprised to know that apartments are often our favourite spaces to photograph in, due to the floor to ceiling windows!
Because when it comes to our in-home shoots, the size of your home doesn't matter at all...it's all about the natural light 🌞🌞

How dreamy is this office nook? I think Sunny loved it as much as we did 🥰
We recently stayed in the gorgeous pet-friendly Granite Cottage with @beechworthshortstays that was built way back in the 1860's. It's been recently renovated but kept much of its period features, so there was plenty of charm to be found as I'm sure you can imagine!
This cosy little light-filled space was one of our favourites to hang out and sneak some work in while we were away 🌞

This shoot was a long time coming for best friends Anissa and Archie!
Anissa’s family wanted to arrange a special gift for her 50th birthday, one she wouldn’t forget.
After spending an afternoon with Anissa and Archie and creating these gorgeous memories she can treasure always - we’d say that’s mission accomplished! 😍

When we first got together 13 years ago, having a business together certainly wasn't part of the plan...
Back then, we didn't even know if our partner visa would be granted - or what country we'd end up living in (for those who don’t know, Katy's English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and I'm (Shell) an Aussie 🇦🇺) You may see where I'm about to go with this…😂
Some people think we're crazy to work together, because working with your partner definitely isn't for everyone. But we’d never have it any other way!
Because there’s just nothing better than sharing your passions, your goals, your wins and your loves with your favourite person in the whole world ❤️
We never imagined we’d be celebrating our anniversary by facing off against eachother in the @fifawomensworldcup - but if all these years have taught us anything, we sure have a knack for embracing the unexpected!
So, happy 13 years to us! And GO THE #MATILDAS 💚💛💚💛 (sorry Katy 🤭🤭)

Not going to lie, as cocker mums we *may* have squealed when we found out we'd be photographing gorgeous Milo and his family!
We first met Tilly and Rhys early last year for their beautiful engagement shoot, but this time it was Milo's turn to get in on the action for some cosy family photos at home 😍
With his beautiful brown eyes and typical cocker sass, it's no surprise mum and dad are besotted with him (and no surprise he's the boss of the house! 😆)
There was soooo much love in the room during this shoot 🥰 So grateful to spend our days doing this job!

We stayed in a beautiful pet-friendly cottage with so many charming features, including a dreamy office space in the loft. Total #wfh goals 😍
As much as we love Melbourne we always escaping for a short tree change too 🏞️
