What does the session reservation fee cover?
A $250 reservation fee is required to secure your booking for an in-home pet photo session within 20kms of Melbourne.
We don’t charge for the actual pet photo shoot, which means your deposit will be used as credit towards your photography order following the session.
Do you service locations outside of Melbourne?
We’re more than happy to visit locations beyond 20kms of Melbourne CBD at an additional cost to cover our travel.
To give you an idea, we’ve photographed dogs & their families everywhere from Rye to Barwon Heads – even Adelaide and Sydney!
Here is a general guide to our travel fees: 21-40km = $50 / 41 – 60km = $75 / 61km + = $100+.
How much will I spend?
This all depends on your budget! All pet photo shoot packages have been carefully designed to offer great value and cater to all budgets.
To give you an idea, framed wall art starts from $450, digital-only bundles from $595, and combined digital and print packages from $1350.
On average our clients spend $1000+, but what you spend is of course up to you.
For full pricing details, get our pet photography pricing guide here.
Do you offer payment plans?
Absolutely! We offer an easy ‘pay in 4 instalments’ plan. Simply pay off your order in 4 x interest-free instalments over 4 weeks, 4 fortnights, or 4 months – whichever duration suits you best.
Once you have paid off the full amount, we’ll release your order to you.
Do you only shoot in-home pet photo sessions?
While in-home pet photo shoots are our speciality, we understand that having your photo session at home might not be possible for everyone.
That’s why we’re more than happy to shoot at an alternative outdoor location, whether it’s the beach or your favourite local park.
If you prefer having the shoot outdoors, you might love our golden hour pet photo sessions held at Royal Park, Williamstown or Brighton Beach.
I’m awkward in front of the camera and don’t like being in photos…can the session just be about my dog?
We totally understand why some people feel this way, as we’re a little awks in front of a camera ourselves!
Technically the answer is yes – your dog can totally be the solo star of the shoot.
BUT…hear us out for a second.
One day in the future, when your best friend is sadly no longer by your side…will you regret not going through a little discomfort to capture your precious memories together?
Besides, our in-home pet photography sessions are so relaxed and down-to-earth, it feels like you’re just hanging out with friends.
If it’s still a “heck no!” after our emotional plea above, we’ll totally respect that and only photograph your pup, no questions asked.
What happens at an in-home pet photo session?
An average pet photo session begins with us arriving at your home with coffees in hand, and plenty of cuddles to give to your pup!
After we’ve established ourselves as your fur baby’s newest pals, Katy will scout out the areas in your home with the best natural light.
We’ll then slowly get into shooting, which basically just involves us following you and your dog around your home, hanging out like you would any other day. Your shoot won’t be staged at all and will flow very naturally, as if we’re not even there.

What if my home is too messy / small / cluttered?
First up, don’t worry – we’re super flexible with the spaces we shoot in. After all, our pet photography style is relaxed and candid – so your home should reflect this!
The main spaces we tend to shoot in are the main living area and your master bedroom. So even just a light tidy and de-clutter of these two spaces is ideal.
Katy also loves a challenge and to show off her stylist skills, so she’d be more than happy to create a little space that’s perfect for shooting – whether that’s a well-lit corner by a window, relaxing on your porch or snuggling your pup by your front door – she’ll have it sorted.
We want your pet photo shoot to be a fun and relaxing experience for you, one that’s purely focused on the bond you share with your fur baby.
You just do you – we’ll do the rest!
What should I wear to a photo session?
As your session will most likely be at home, think barefoot, comfy and casual – whatever reflects you and your personal style.
We do suggest avoiding wearing black (especially if you have a black dog) and wearing clothes with large logos.
Your pet photo session is all about celebrating your unique personalities and one-of-a-kind connection with your dog – so we welcome you to express yourself in whatever outfit you love most.

What if a dog is a bit on the naughty side? (asking for a friend…)
We’ll let you in on a little secret…we kinda have a soft spot for the cheeky pups!
The aim of our pet portrait sessions is to capture your dog’s unique personality and quirks (even if they thrive on maximum chaos!)
Over the years we’ve photographed countless over-excitable pups, and as experienced professional pet photographers, we have a few tricks up our sleeve to help them stay calm during the shoot.
Whatever happens, we have plenty of patience, calm energy and experience to make sure you’ll get the very best photos on the day.
Can my family/friends and their dog join our photo shoot too?
As our pet photography sessions are focused on your personal family connection with your dog, unfortunately we can only shoot one family at a time.
However, we’d love for your friends or family to book their own pet photo shoot with us!
When can we see the photos from our shoot?
Within 4 weeks of your pet photography session, you’ll receive a link to your online gallery where you can view your images and select your favourites to order.
If you are purchasing wall art or printed products, these will arrive within 4-8 weeks depending on the products ordered.

“I loved my photoshoot with Dogfolk for my puppy’s first birthday. They were so warm, professional and friendly, very patient with my anxious pup, and had lots of great ideas.
They communicated with me while we were waiting for printing and framing, and even hand delivered my framed print. I absolutely love the photos and still enjoy looking at them“
